Overview
We establish a welcoming social and academic environment where diversity technology, math, science, and engineering UC Berkeley undergradaute students can explore, develop, and realize their academic, personal, and cultural strengths. NERDS offers a combination of high-quality mentored research experiences, academic support, community service, leadership development, and professional networking to help students survive, thrive, and identify their unique pathway to successful graduate school or professional careers. Cal NERDS is housed in the Professional Development Program (PDP) which was established in 1974 by the UC Berkeley Faculty Academic Senate. Our one of a kind student center is centrally located in the middle of campus at 230 Stephens Hall (we have been located here since PDP's inception).  Our space is the home of the Crow Dog Native American Murals (several giant wall murals) by Artist Lakota Chief Leonard Crow Dog, Jr.  A brief bio of Chief Crow Dog, Jr. can be found here.
